Bible Prophecy: The Written Word
Examples of modern day bible prophecy that come
to mind often involve Israel and the Jewish people, like the prediction that
Israel's inhabitants would be relocated all across the globe.
Deuteronomy 28:64 Then the Lord
will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. …
After this occurred, God predicted that Israel
would one day become a Jewish country once again, something that God fulfilled
in 1948 after the second world war. The prediction was laid out thousands
of years before however.
Amos 9:14-15
I will bring back my exiled people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities
and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make
gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again
to be uprooted from the land I have given them," says the Lord your God.
What does God have planned for the
future?
Jeremiah 23:3-6 "I myself will
gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them
and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and
increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and
they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing," declares
the Lord. "The days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will raise up to
David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and
right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in
safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.
This verse foretells that Jesus will soon return
to Earth, after Israel has been restored.
